I'm Darcy McKinney, a photographer based in Calgary, Alberta Canada.
I'm excited you're here and I hope that I have the opportunity to work with you! I've been practicing photography for years but only recently started to expand outside of friends and family.
You might see me around Calgary taking photos at events for the Calgary Sport and Social Club, come say hey!
I'm excited for all possibilities! I'm very much embracing this portfolio building era of my photography journey!
I'll be upfront with you: photography is my passion, not my full-time profession. I love the craft, the connection, the joy of freezing a moment in time and working together to save memories that we can be excited about for years to come!
What I'm not: I'm not a full-time photographer managing a packed calendar or running a polished studio operation.
What I am: I am someone who has spent years learning, practicing, and falling deeper in love with what a camera can capture. That comes with a few trade-offs, and I'd rather be transparent about that rather than oversell it. What it does come with is genuine excitement for every single shoot, real flexibility, and the kind of care that only comes when you're doing something purely for the love of it.
